長毛兔的飼喂制度，通常可分為自由采食和限量飼喂兩種。目前，我國養兔大多采用定時定量 ― 限量飼喂方式，按照不同兔的營養需要和季節特點，定出飼養管理的操作日程，每天的飼喂次數、時間及喂量都要保持相對穩定，不能忽早忽遲，也不能饑飽不均。
