一、 不講科學(xué)，管理粗放。有的養(yǎng)兔戶不講科學(xué)，自以為是，以散養(yǎng)為主，籠養(yǎng)為輔。這樣飼養(yǎng)方法是不科學(xué)的，獺兔是為了要皮毛，皮毛好就能多賣錢，皮毛差就少賣錢，為了減少皮毛的損害，獺兔必須進(jìn)行籠養(yǎng)，這樣才能產(chǎn)出好的皮張。有的人不注意環(huán)境衛(wèi)生，不及時(shí)清理糞便，舍內(nèi)通風(fēng)不良，氨氣過大臭氣熏天，籠底糞便發(fā)酵成堆。

二、近親繁殖，配種過早。有的養(yǎng)兔戶不重視品種的選育，長期不更換種公兔，近親繁殖嚴(yán)重，造成品種退化，有的養(yǎng)兔戶配種過早，特別在高，炒種高潮時(shí)，竟將其4個(gè)月左右的母兔進(jìn)行配種繁殖，甚連續(xù)血配，使后代一窩不如一窩，一代不如一代，造成仔兔體小而弱，生長緩慢這種情況很難生產(chǎn)出獺兔。

三、出欄時(shí)間過早。有的養(yǎng)兔戶重?cái)?shù)量不重質(zhì)量，獺兔生長在5斤以上就出售，不管毛生長如何，造成出欄過早，皮毛質(zhì)量差。獺兔按要求一般飼養(yǎng)在5-6個(gè)月才能出售，這時(shí)間越長而質(zhì)量越好，越高。過早出售造成皮薄韌性差，毛空而稀，望養(yǎng)兔戶要根據(jù)毛的質(zhì)量的好、壞，季節(jié)的不同，做好有計(jì)劃的出售，才能收到好的經(jīng)濟(jì)效益。
