長毛兔的養殖離不開兔籠，兔籠是兔生活的重要場所，其采食、飲水、運動、休息、排泄和繁衍等都在籠內停止。因而，兔籠的建造必需合適長毛兔的生理特性，到達造價低，經久耐用，管理便當的請求。

（1）兔籠的規格依據家兔不同種類類型，普通每只兔的籠位面積0.5左右，大型兔、產仔母兔、種公兔的籠面積稍大一些。以養獺兔為例，普通養種兔的兔籠的規格為：寬×深×高=60厘米×50厘米×40厘米，養商品獺兔的兔籠規格為寬×深×高=90厘米×55厘米×40厘米。普通養種獺兔的籠位面積不宜低于0.3。也可依據養殖戶的條件作恰當調整。兔籠在構造上請求防獸害、鼠害，防兔啃咬，操作便當，利于防疫衛生。視養殖戶條件，可采用磚、石、木、竹及金屬資料修建，但是要做到籠內上、下、左、右、前、后六面的潤滑，既防止掛傷兔，又有利于清潔衛生。用木材制造，內側要刨潤滑；竹片竹青向內，竹節削平，粗細分歧；磚砌應用水泥抹面涂光：金屬外表應涂油漆或鍍鋅或筑塑，以防塵銹。

(1) The specifications of rabbit cages are based on different types of rabbits. The average cage area of each rabbit is about 0.5 square meters. The cage area of large rabbits, litter-bearing female rabbits and breeding male rabbits is slightly larger. However, the lubrication of the upper, lower, left, right, front and rear sides of the cage should be done to prevent injuries to rabbits and to facilitate cleanliness and hygiene. Made of wood, the interior should be planed and lubricated; bamboo slices should be inward, bamboo knots flattened, rough and subdivided; bricks should be polished with cement; metal should be painted or galvanized or plasticized to prevent dust and rust.

（2）籠門普通開在兔籠的前面，采用單開式籠門。可選用鍍鋅鋼網或鍍鋅鐵絲或用鋼絲壓型成籠門后，鍍鋅或筑塑。

（3）籠底板籠底板應力圖平整，結實，便于兔活動，糞便漏下以及清潔。普通用楠竹制造底板。竹片制備成2～2.5厘米寬，竹片邊緣打磨潤滑平直，按1～l.2厘米的間距，竹片方向應與籠門垂直（即竹片是橫著放的），釘于竹條（或木條）上。籠底板應做成活動式，便于定期取下刷洗。

(3) The stress map of cage floor is flat and firm, which is convenient for rabbits to move, feces leaking and cleaning and disinfection. The base plate is usually made of bamboo. The bamboo slices are prepared to be 2-2.5 cm wide. The edges of the slices are polished and lubricated straight. According to the distance of 1-1.2 cm, the direction of the slices should be perpendicular to the cage door (i.e. the slices are placed horizontally) and nailed to the slices (or sticks). The bottom plate of the cage should be made into a movable type to facilitate regular removal, scrubbing and disinfection.

（4）承糞板裝置在兔籠底板下部，承接兔的糞尿，兼作下層兔籠的頂板。請求承糞板平整潤滑、不漏水、不積糞尿，選用1.5厘米厚的水泥板或0.5厘米厚的石棉水泥板或塑料板。裝置承糞板時應由前向后傾斜呈15～17度，前面伸出籠外3～5厘米，后面伸出5～7厘米，接入排糞溝，使一切糞尿都能由板面直接流入糞尿溝。

(4) The fecal plate device is at the lower part of the bottom plate of the rabbit cage, which receives the feces and urine of the rabbit and serves as the roof of the lower cage. It is requested that the fecal plate be smooth, lubricated, waterproof and free of feces and urine. The 1.5 cm thick cement plate or 0.5 cm thick asbestos cement plate or plastic plate should be selected. When installing the fecal plate, it should be tilted 15-17 degrees from the front to the back, extending 3-5 cm out of the cage in front and 5-7 cm behind, so that all feces and urine can flow directly into the fecal and urinary ditch from the surface of the plate.

（5）兔籠普通分為活動式或固定式兩種，活動式多為單層，少數為雙層和多層；固定式多為雙層或三層。
